Brian Townsend Broke?

Has Brian Townsend finally gone busto??? Well, not quite yet, but according to Brian's Townsend's blog he is currently on the largest downswing of his life.?? Brian says his total downswing has reached a total of $3 Million dollars.?? It all started after he lost $1.8 Million to Bobby Baldwin.?? He tried to recoup his loses by playing online at Full Tilt Poker, but went a further $1.2 Million dollars further into his downswing.?? Brian posted in his blog, "I have been getting destroyed by pretty much everyone I play." He further went on to say, "I have almost completely busted my FTP account and may have to wire more money which would be very depressing."

"Often when I am in a downswing I need to rework my game but I think I have been playing well. I know things will turn around as this has happened to me a million times before just not on the same scale", he posted.

On a side note, Brian says he has been doing very well in the omaha 8 games. "When I first began playing them I thought I wouldn't have alot of sucess but I have really hit the ground running. I hope that I am not just running hot and that this sucess continues", said Brian.

Jerry Yang is the 2007 WSOP Champion!

Jerry YangIt took about??16 hours, but at the end of the day??a virtually unknown in the poker world, Jerry Yang (not to be confused with??Yahoo founder Jerry Yang)??went on to win??the biggest tournament in poker - The 2007 WSOP (World Series of Poker).

Yang made many questionable calls to eliminate 8/9 of the players at the final table of this year's WSOP, but he had luck on his side.?? Everyone thought he was playing like a maniac, but his play held out.

In the final hand, Jerry Yang and Tuan Lam pushed all their chips in preflop. Yang showed pocket eights and Lam showed Ad-Qd. After a flop of Q-5-9, Lam took the lead and pumped his fist, assuming he was en route to doubling up. The turn was a 7, giving Yang a gutshot straight draw, in addition to a possible set with one of the two remaining eights in the deck. Yang had six outs, and one of them, the 6 of hearts fell on the river to knock out Lam and give Yang the victory.Lam earned $4,840,981 for his second-place finish. Yang has earned instant celebrity status, the most coveted bracelet of the year and $8.25 million.

Who is Jerry Yang?

Yang is a 39-year-old psychologist and social worker from
southern California. He holds a Masters Degree in health psychology.

Yang was born in Laos. He is married with six children. Yang
started playing poker only two years ago. He won a seat into the main event through a $225??live satellite at the Pechanga Resort and Casino.

Here are the final results/winnings??of the final table at the 2007 WSOP:

1. Jerry Yang $8,250,000

Townsend Caught Bluffing in $1.8 Million Pot

Brian Townsend posted in his blog the other day that he got caught bluffing by Bobby Baldwin in a $1.8 Million pot.?? He said he was going to post more details, but has still yet to do so.?? Here is what he posted:

"Just got caught bluffing in a pot over 1.8 million dollars against Bobby Baldwin. I actaully had to get up and leave the table I was so tilted. I have to give Bobby credit he out played me. I will describe the hand tomorrow when I am feeling better. I don't even know how much I ended down since I just had the poker room manager rack up for me, but I would guess between 700 and 800K. I may go home tomorrow as well. I have been in Vegas for 2 weeks now and am very homesick. I thought I wouldn't leave Vegas until this game was done but I really dont' want to be here right now."

It looks like Brian may be having a tough time getting over this loss.?? I recommend checking out Brian Townsend's Blog for the update on this pot.

Sklansky Sets the Record Straight About Brad Booth?s Losses

As you may be aware, Brad Booth has lost a lot of money recently and there is much speculation whether he has gone busto.?? Booth apparently asked David Sklansky (owner of 2+2 poker) to set the record straight.

In a post on 2+2, David posted:

"He asked me to tell everyone here that his big losses were in huge internet games, mainly PLO, rather than live games. He is a giant winner in live games. And that my speculation that his large overbets, relative to pot size, might have caught up with him, was not at all the case."

Beginner Hope

When I fisrt saw poker online I thought 'yea thats great I can waste any of them' thinking I was a pro because I have played poker for years for money and that it was a game of luck.
But I have been saddly mistaken, hence the reason why i have started this thread. To warn all the old skool players (My Loving Partner) that it's not the same you need to update your skills. I not saying to discard what you know but to update and add.
The best way I have found to achieve this is to join these forums, soak up all the information you can and put it in to practise, and practise. Using the play money options at the poker sites you play on are good for practise or even setting up games with players from your forum or community you are involved are even better because they have their own strategies which you can pick up on.
I hope this helps those out thier who are still stuck on the old ways.

help me remember the name of this tv show

hi guys its been some time since i saw at probly discovery or natgeo a program that talked about the odds of certain thing that could be impossible to happen but apparently they did happen and they explained with two funny geeks, i cant remember the name of the show ive searched on google and you tube as one in a million, what are the odds and other weird names

As you may be aware, Brad Booth has lost a lot of money recently and there is much speculation whether he has gone busto.?? Booth apparently asked David Sklansky (owner of 2+2 poker) to set the record straight.

Yang had six outs, and one of them, the 6 of hearts fell on the river to knock out Lam and give Yang the victory.Lam earned $4,840,981 for his second-place finish.
